Traveller Accommodation Programme 2008-2013

Limerick City Council has prepared a Traveller Accommodation Programme for the period January 2009 to December 2013 in accordance with Section 7 of the Housing (Traveller Accommodation) Act, 1998. The programme sets out Limerick City Council’s policy approach to the provision of Traveller Accommodation over the next 5 years.

    The 2009-2013 Traveller Accommodation Programme is the third Traveller Accommodation Programme since the enactment of the 1998 Housing Act and replaces the existing Traveller Accommodation Programme adopted by Limerick City Council in 2005 and due to expire 31st December 2008. The new Accommodation Programme is viewed as complementary to and an extension of the previous plans and sets out to meet the existing and projected accommodation needs for Travellers during this period.
